Inside GDC! (Part 2)

A promise is a promise. Here we are again with the second part of the “Inside GDC” videos.

In the first one, you can see the West Moscone building, the place where most of the conferences and the awards ceremony take place. Now it’s time to see the other buildings of the Moscone Center. To the North, there are more conferences, workshops, and a place where you can try the IGF finalist projects out. The South building is the Expo where the Industry’s major companies, such as Oculus, Nvidia, Unreal, Unity, Houdini, etc. show their products. A big place with games and technologies with some big queues, too.

See for yourself:

Regarding the conferences, I found most of them very interesting: VR and AR: Forty Predictions by Jesse Schell, Ms. Pac-Man Postmortem by Steve Golson, Lara Croft GO Postmortem by Antoine Routon, Fallout 4’s Modular Level Design by Joel Burguess and Nathan Purkeypile, Designing AI for Competitive Games by Derek Neal and Bruce Hayles, and some others about Vulkan and education at game universities.

The Independent Game Festival Awards and Game Developers Choice Awards ceremony was awesome, as expected: bright, colourful, with a good rhythm of tempo and music. I will just say that Her Story won in almost all the categories, Life Is Strange won the Audience Award and The Witcher 3 won the Game of the Year Award.

I don’t know if we will make other videos in the future, maybe for the next 4th Edition of the Three-headed Monkey Awards. :) (Save the date: May 20th!)

Until then, I hope you have enjoyed both videos at GDC.

See you soon!
